Why choose a Savaria Luma lift

A gorgeous self-supporting through-floor lift

The Savaria Luma lift requires only a 38″ by 47″ footprint and no support wall, making it flexible for placement in your home. The quiet winding drum drive features a hidden rope system, with no unsightly cables. The Luma lift is simple to use, and easy to install. An attractive non-skid floor, sloped entrance and full depth handrail provide added safety for use with mobility aids.

  • From the ground up, the Savaria Luma lift’s design is a marriage of safety and good looks. Our research and development team created a lift specifically for aging-in-place needs. The clear acrylic fully enclosed cab, hidden cables and interior finishing deliver a luxury feel. This two-stop lift is ideal for retrofits, meets safety code standards and features modern styling. For those with mobility aids such as rollators, walkers, or canes, the Luma lift is an ideal choice as it accommodates compact mobility aids.

  • Unlike a home elevator with shaft, the Luma lift uses a self-supporting rail system. You can put the Luma virtually anywhere in the room – tucked into a corner, beside a staircase, or in an open space in the room. With a required footprint of only about 38 x 47 inches, the Luma fits in tight spaces.

  • The Luma lift features a sloped entrance to eliminate tripping hazards and allow easier use with rollators. This also means that no pit is required beneath the lift, for easier site preparation. The Luma lift requires a lower-level ceiling height of 82 ¾” and an upper-level ceiling height of 94 ½”.

  • A quiet and reliable winding drum drive powers the Luma lift. With the rope system tucked away in the support rails, there are no messy cables dangling. Because the Luma Lift is battery powered with built-in charging via standard household power, it will continue to operate during a power failure for about 5 up and down trips.

  • The Luma lift design prioritizes safety and the product meets all safety code standards in all markets where it is sold. Standard safety features include: sensors to stop the lift if it encounters any obstruction in either direction, an overspeed arrestor to prevent the lift from travelling too fast and a door interlock to ensure that the door cannot be opened while the lift is in use. The full-sized door – standard on every Luma lift – ensures the rider is safely enclosed as the lift travels.

  • If you need straight-through access, you can upgrade your Luma lift with two doors. This is a handy feature for ease of in and out if you use a rollator or mobility aid.

The Luma lift was honored with a Best of IBS™ Award
