Custom curved stairlift with a twin rail for indoor and outdoor use

Perfect for compact stairs or spiral staircases

savaria + handicare

Using the latest technology, our twin rail system is custom built to create a perfect fit for your stairs. The Handicare 4000 offers a range of automatic options tailored to your needs, including a folding hinge to avoid obstructing nearby doorways, and powered swivel and footrest for ultimate ease of use.

Its stable twin rail design delivers a smooth ride whilst enabling tight bends. This system offers the tightest rail bends on the market, making it an ideal choice for spiral or curved staircases and narrow hallways.

The rail colour can be fully customised to suit your décor, and the seat can be customised with a range of colours in three style options: the Style, the Smart, or the Simplicity.

    • Tailored: Easily upgrade with powered options to suit your needs today and tomorrow.
    • Compact: Folds to leave more room on the stairs when not in use. Hinged rail allows clear access on the lower level.
    • Safety: Retractable seat belt, emergency stop, and safety sensors.
    • Energy efficient: Low running costs and batteries to remain operational if there’s a power cut.
    • Outdoor: With improved UV protection and water-resistant cover (IP44 rated)

    How to use this stairlift

  • In order for the seat to get low enough for the user to sit on, it is necessary for the track to extend beyond the staircase to the lower floor level. Or in some cases, there may be a doorway close to the bottom of the stairs and the track may intrude across this. In these circumstances a hinged track should be installed. This means that the track can be folded away from the doorway giving clear access.

Curved stairlifts can be supplied with a powered hinged track that extends when you go downstairs, and folds up when you go upstairs or want to park the lift out of the way, allowing clear access on the lower level.

    • Applications: Residential indoor and outdoor
    • Load capacity: The weight limit on the 4000 is 136 kg. The weight limited can be increased to 160 kg with the heavy duty kit.
    • Minimum track intrusion into staircase: 125 mm
    • Speed: 0.12 m/sec
    • Maximum staircase angle: 56°
  • Please note, product details for Asia may vary. Please consult our sales offices for complete specifications.

Outdoor

The Handicare 4000 Outdoor stairlift is durable, strong and reliable, using the latest technology to help you with stairs outside your home.

The weatherproofed materials are expertly designed and built to measure for your staircase, and can accommodate stairs that are spiral, curved, or turn corners.

The chrome plated rail, UV stable upholstery, and anti-slip footrest make it safe to use outdoors in all weather, and our outdoor lifts include a waterproof cover to protect them from the elements, making sure it’s always ready to use.

Like all our stairlifts, outdoor models include a key switch, so that you know your stairlift is always safe from unauthorised use.

Smart Seat

With a choice of four colours, the Smart seat is a practical, durable seat solution. The Smart seat can be supplied with optional powered features to remove the need for bending to fold a footrest or turning to swivel the seat when getting on or off the stairlift upstairs.

Maximum capacity with:

  • 4000 Hinged rail 136kg
  • 4000 with non-hinged rail 136kg standard rail and 160kg with HD rail. The Smart seat also offers versions with additional arm spacers to increase the distance between the arms.

OPTIONS

  • When you arrive at the top of the stairs, you will need to swivel your seat around so that you exit onto the landing safely. All our stairlifts come with a manual swivel that is operated from a handle located at either side of the seat.

Choosing a powered swivel option removes the need for you to operate the lever and turn the seat: simply continue to hold the toggle in the direction of travel when you arrive at the top of the rail and the seat will automatically turn to face the landing.

  • In order to maximize free space, all our stairlifts have seats, footrests and arms that are designed to be manually folded up out of the way when not in use, allowing clear access for other stair users.

You can also choose the powered footrest option that will remove the need to bend down to fold or unfold the footplate. You can choose to have a footrest that folds up automatically when the seat is also folded up, or choose a footrest that is operated separately from a switch on the arm so you can raise and lower it while seated.

  • Available in three sizes, our body harnesses are specifically designed for stairlift users who may require further stability when travelling up and down. Thanks to its contoured design, the harness is comfortable to wear with adjustable straps that help tailor it to specific needs.

Style Seat

Our Style seat is available in three colour options, and offers a range of powered options to make your everyday life easier.

Maximum capacity with:

  • 4000 hinged rail 136kg
  • 4000 with non-hinged rail 136kg standard rail and 160kg with HD rail

Simplicity Seat

If you do not require a powered swivel option, the Simplicity seat offers you a safe and cost-effective way to overcome the challenge of climbing your stairs.

The upholstery is available in a neutral sand coloured wipe clean flame retardant fabric.

The Simplicity seat swivel is manually operated but you can choose to add a powered footrest if you wish. The 4000 Simplicity comes with a retractable seat belt as standard but it can be ordered with a Velcro alternative if preferred.

Perch Seat

If you have restricted movement in the knee or hip joints you may find sitting painful. In these situations, a Perch seat may be the best solution for you.

A Perch seat means the user is almost in a standing position when they are using the lift. There is a shortened seat (and retractable seat belt) which provides a stable support area for users to ‘perch’ on. This means that Perch Seats may also provide a solution for particularly narrow staircases where a user would not have room to travel in a seated position.

Maximum capacity for 4000 136kg.
